Cramp Bark & Unicorn Herbal Tea

Menorrhagia more commonly known as heavy or prolonged periods are experienced by as many as 1 out of every 3 women.  Anyone who has ever had a period so heavy that its leaked through their pad or tampon knows how embarrassing it can be, with many women who struggle with heavy periods often cancelling appointments, events or taking days off work as their left feeling drained of energy.

So what is considered heavy or prolonged?  If your periods are so heavy that you find yourself unable to do normal everyday tasks or needing to cancel going out or doing usual activities because you’re worried you go through your sanitary protection then you probably have heavy periods.

If you have to change your sanitary towel or tampon every hour or have to double up to prevent leaks and still have to change these every hour or couple of hours to avoid coming through to your clothes this would be considered heavy.   The average period for most women is between 5 - 7 days, if your periods last longer than this then you would be considered as having prolonged periods.

Whilst many people might think that menorrhagia is just an inconvenience or a bit embarrassing but nothing to worry about then they would be wrong losing excessive amounts of blood during your period either due to it being heavy or longer than the average period it can cause anemia, women can experience fatigue, lethargy and shortness of breath. There are many herbs that can help to ease the symptoms of Menorrhagia.
